Road Warrior Redux
Whew! After 4 workshops in a row, I realize that it was a marathon, but lots of fun. Most of the participants of the workshops were very flattering in their evaluations of the workshops:

Overall, they indicated that they had learned a lot and that GenScope would be used in their classes.
Not only that, our hosts at the WGBH Teacher Training Center, who had never
seen GenScope before, were so pleased with the workshop that they asked us
to return in December to run a workshop for them. They said anyone
interested could call them at 617-492-2777 x2677 and ask for Pepita Soto.

Afterword: What about me? What did I learn?
The most important item is that GenScope is more flexible than I ever dreamed it could be. I've worked on this program for almost 6 years now and still I'm amazed at the new ways that people are using it. Some of the teachers created puzzles that used the program as a reference point, some used it to create a story line and others used it as the major piece of the puzzle. The population level is turning out to be the most interesting part of the program. We can set up all kinds of "What if" scenarios, let them run, and try to figure out the evolutionary meanings of the results. Neat!
Don't forget to check the great list of GenScope Activities...try 'em out and let me know how they work out for you!
